On Lebanon, we entered the sound separately from the image. Believe it or not, this is standard pattern on narrative feature, so the sound sociable can hold control over his grades and cut the figure of connectednesses the sign is running through. There are slipways to automatically synchronise the sound, but these cost money. Usually the laboratory syncs the sound when making dailies for the pic, but we were able to jump this procedure as we were hitting digitally. The laboratory is fundamentally my Mackintosh. Eventually, as a pis aller, if the sound makes ask to be synchronize manually, usually an adjunct editor or interne can fuck. But as this a true low budget indie and the redaction system domiciliate in my place office, synchronise the sound holds fallen tome. I 've gotten verily good at synchronize these past two months because I 've holded very much of pattern. There are 201 scenes in Lebanon. Some scenes are `` one-ers, '' IE were simply covered in one angle ( like if Volition walks into a edifice ). But some scenes are affected 3 page dialog scenes, and they may hold tell seven angles with five payoff of each angle. What I 've asked to make is sync each take I'm doing it in Final Cut Pro, and without getting too technical/boring, essentially I need to bring in each clip onto a timeline, add the two to six track "good" sound underneath the mono scratch track we recorded on camera, line them up with the snap of the slate (that part where the assistant camera guy says "Take three, marker!" and claps the slate shut), check the sound tracks don't echo each other, but are in sync, and then delete the scratch track and export a new movie with the proper sound.

I 've got it downwardly to about two proceedings or less per yield, but I 've got to ideate we 've got about 3, 000 to 4, 000 issues in the movie. If I was redacting full clip, I believe I could hold synchronise the movie in about 2 or 2 1/2 hebdomads, but unfortunately I 'm back to work full clip now to pay the measures while I position the flick together. Welcome to the glamor of low-budget passionateness labor.

But the good word is that I am now a mere full day 's work offly from holding the picture fullly synchronize. So I get to bound into really redacting scenes, and I 'm more hungry to make so.
